what is disciples kitchen?

Disciples Kitchen in Waynesboro, VA is a local soup kitchen open to individuals and families in need of a hot meal.

Meals are served Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of 2nd Presbyterian Church on Commerce Ave.  And, breakfast is served each Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Basic United Methodist Church on the corner of 5th & Delphine.  All meals are served free-of-charge to anyone in need.

Disciples Kitchen is a non-denominational ministry sponsored by more than 20 churches and organizations and close to 250 active volunteers.  Since it opened its doors in September 2007, Disciples Kitchen has served more than 100,000 meals.  Each meal averages around 40 to 50 diners.

The goal of the program is to share what God has given us - His love and His blessings - by providing a hot, nutritious meal free-of-charge to anyone who needs it. The body of Christ works best when it works together. Discipleship and service know no boundaries.  We are always appreciative of donations and volunteer resources.
